i come across this and Connor and i both got a kick out of watching it again and again and again...

this happened last summer at my parents home when Ben got home from his mission. Connor's 2 and a half.

9 months

{9 mth stats}
17 lb 14 oz
28.25 in
while we were at the beach last week Kylene hit her 9 mth mark. i remember this time last year trying to picture what my life would be like when she was around 8-9 mths and i had no idea it would be as happy as it is (and i was expecting something pretty good!) {photo courtesy of Ashley Henderson}
at 9 mths Kylene is easily cruising around the place by holding onto furniture. she is a very FAST crawler and has an increasingly long reach (i think i've mentioned she's a food thief. all of the above skills make her a master thief.)
she sits back on her knees and lifts up her hands to be held which she wants a lot these days since she's noticed there's so much stuff happening above that she wants to be a part of! i.e cooking and what's happening at the computer.
she loves to be rocked and sung to while sucking her blankie.
she has a love for stuffed animals.
her food preferences are expanding and she's become a regular member of the dinner table eating what we eat. her favorites seem to be noodles with tomato or alfredo sauce and don't even dare try to take any fresh peaches away from the girl!
she's discovered that the water in her sippy is not the same as the apple juice in Connor's so we've started giving her super diluted juice which she is very pleased with.
she takes one short morning nap and a longer afternoon nap along with Connor which spells pure bliss for Mom.
she's loves being tickled, playing chase, and being involved in anything Connor's doing.
if she's quiet, i usually find her in Connor's room getting into all the things he tries to keep her away from. :)
she loves other babies.
i've started to put a small clip in her hair since she pulls her headbands off.
shes still has her rolly polly thighs which, um, we like a lot.
she lights up when she hears Byron's voice when he comes home and crawls to find him.
we are so in love.

a little birdie told me...

that after i made this mobile for an Etsy client, Kylene really needed one for her room.i used 13 birds (3 were given me by great, beautiful, and talented girls at a baby shower) and each bird was made out of fabric scraps i had on hand.
connor and i found the cool branches outside and i already had the fishing wire and eye hooks so the total cost of this project was...$0. love it.

it makes me happy to sit in Kylene's rocking chair and watch the birds slowly rotate.
i found the idea here. the birds are so fun to make. the actual stringing of the branches together gets a bit hairy, but if you can take multiple deep breaths, you'll be very happy with the end result.
happy crafting.

oh what do you do in the summer time...

when all the world is green? do you take out the hose and squish mud through toes while running and laughing outside? is that what you do? apparently, so do we.

i hope Connor remembers and appreciates how awesome his Mom is (aka. me) for letting him make a mud mess, get me all wet along with him in the sprinkler while cleaning him off and cleaning all the mud off of everything afterwards. yeah, i know, go me.

last night, Connor and I were in his room playing with his cars (his hundreds of cars) before bedtime when Kylene meandered on in. she was about to snatch one of said hundred precious cars to sooth those teethin' gums when Connor, in a panic over precious car number 132, stood up, pointed a car at her and said, "Oh!'. does that sound hysterical to you? something about it sure hit Kylene's funny bone and she gut/belly laughed over and over as Connor repeated this same scenario over, and over, and over, and over... it was wonderful.

thank heavens i don't have a life or else i would miss out on moments like these.

sister, sisters

these lovely ladies are for two sisters. the oldest, 3 years old, saw these dolls on my Etsy shop and told her Mom, this was the doll for her. my heart soared. to get the approval of a 3 year old, is big...i know.

i'm so pleased with how these girlies turned out and can't wait for the girls to get them.
