He's Already Spoken For, Thank You

Last night Byron attended our Stake Priesthood Leadership Meeting. Byron was involved in part of the Young Men's training. After the meeting ended he was approached by a man from another ward who introduced himself and asked if he new a sister from the Singles' Ward. When Byron stated he did not, the man proceeded to tell Byron what a wonderful person this woman is. Not only is she the best Relief Society President the ward has ever had, but she's the best President in the Region...imagine! It wasn't until after the conversation ended that Byron realized the man had been trying to set the two up! We laughed and laughed when Byron recounted the story to me. I asked Byron what he said while the man was going on about what a wonderful person this woman was and he said he was saying things like, "Wow, that's great. It's great to have such wonderful people in our wards and stakes.":) I told Byron he should take it as a great compliment that this man thought he would be a good match for the best Relief Society President in the Region. Several people told Byron last night that he looked like he was fresh off the mission and obviously, this man thought this Elder needed a good wife. Well, thanks, but he's taken!

I always enjoy reading your blog. You always have the best stories that make me laugh. I had so much fun listening to all your stories during the mission.

I have sooo many things to comment on. First off, remember when Kristi was being hit on by that guy who was about to go on his mission and left a note on her car? Even after seeing you guys as you were walking into the Temple to get married? HELLO you were carrying your wedding dress. Also, who knew Byron looks so young still? Must be the hair, or the shoes. Also, who ever calls anyone the best President in the region? Do they even know what a region is? And finally, does anyone outside of Utah look at a person's left finger before they approach them? And finally (again) why do people think that a calling determines a person's attractiveness? I was just as attracted to Chris when he was a Primary teacher as I was when he was a substitute materials center worker.

As Mars Blackman (Spike Lee) used to say in the old Nike commercials to Michael Jordan, "It's gotta be the shoes". :-)

I love that Byron didn't get that he was trying to sell him on her until later. What a strange experience. Did the guy ever realize that Byron is already married? Bizarre. You should have told him that he already married a wonderful Relief Society president who happens to work in the Primary now. :) The best in the region? Is that like Best in Show? ;)

Like father like son--When Bev first went to NC to look for housing for our family (3 kids at this time), a sister in the ward asked him where his companion was. Imagine her shock when he said, "SHe's still in VA". Hey Kristi, the woman who said this was the one who came from NC to your reception here in SC. Ithink its great to be married to young looking men as long as they don't make us look old!!!
