And the Winner Is...
Even though our apartment complex is old and showing it, I really appreciate the staff. They work really hard to make Booker Creek Townhouses a nice and happy place to live. Thank you staff!:) One of their recent efforts was a fall decorating contest. I received a flier on my door stating the parameters of the contest and decided since I already had my fall wreath up, might as well "register". (This consisted of going to the office and finding I was the first one to sign up. It was the last day to do so). After I registered, the competitive side of me reared its ugly head (I've been successful at beating it down for many, many years in order to live a more happy, conflict free life, but sometimes it gets the better of me). So the competitive Kristi started looking around at the other apartments. Shock! There was no fall beauty to be found anywhere! I've been sitting patiently waiting for my grand prize ever since. Three weeks later I found a note on my door saying I had received second place and to pick up my prize the next day. Since I had successfully recaged competitive Kristi, I was very pleased with my second place and happily received my prize at the office today. I am the proud recipient of an hour massage (gratuity not included). I've never had a massage before. Are they nice? Do they hurt? I was more hoping for some sort of restaurant gift certificate or maybe a month's free rent, but beggars can't be choosers right? I'll have to put my game face on next contest.

Honestly, I would take the hour massage over a restaurant gift certificate any day. I have had like four or five and while some have been better than others, they have all been very relaxing! Congrats on your prize. Did you find out who won first prize?
If I'm being honest, I have no idea who could have possibly pulled in the grand prize. I saw a pot of mums on someone's door the other day. Maybe they got it.:)
Congratulations on being the almost best! I can't believe you won a massage for putting a wreath up. Nice.
Aren't there rules about listing the winners of the contest. I think I'd ask for the list and see what your competition did to "best" you. This would help you be better equipped to compete in the future. Also it makes the "judges" accountable for their actions. And if you're sweet, I bet you could find out what the grand prize was--only a good idea if you wouldn't become too upset with your prize.
Congrats on the win. I loved the wreath. Maybe nest year you could add some tacky window stickies and some fall leaves around the door and a pumpkin and a fall twirlygig and of course a pot of mums!!!! Oh by the way a massage is great and if you like it remember your sister-in-law is a massage therapist! Consider it being twice a winner---GO KRISTI!!!
Ah, I can see now that I missed my chance with the tacky window stickies...you're right there's always next year.:) I should find out who won, there's that competitive girl come out again, darn her.;)
Just know that you won "Grand Prize" in my book and you can come over for a free dinner at the Peterson Restaurant any ole' time. I hear the chef makes a killer . . . (I don't know, I'll have to actually figure that one out).
We'll wait for the crock-pot bug to bit Nate again and we'll be there!:)
does the staff give the massages as well? If so, that is a great staff you have there.
I had a massage once and I decided that maybe I should send Geoff to massage therapy school then I could get educated massages and not feel weird about it. Otherwise I think I'll stick with Geoff's backrubs. :)
